The project comprised of 10No. blocks totalling 366No. apartments, the majority being for private sale. The top floor of each block consist of penthouses with underfloor heating, MVHR and a tailored lighting solution. The development is all served via the new energy centre which was constructed in the basement of the first block. The energy centre comprised a 309kW thermal (185kW electric) CHP operating as lead heat generating equipment. A further 12mW of boiler power and associated thermal stores supplemented the CHP. Ilec-Imec were responsible for design and installation of the energy centre and associated district heating network which necessitated over 1.5km of district heating pipework. Ilec-Imec were responsible for the entire building services installation of the site and the projected was completed 5 months ahead of programme. The project formed part of a £100m+ development between David Wilson Homes and the racecourse.
